How to read shared phrasing and origins

We highlight 4-word phrases that appear in two or more independent origins. Copies from the same publisher (a wire story on its website and on X, or syndicated reprints with near-identical headlines) count as one origin. Text inside quotation marks is ignored, because quoting the same remark is normal reporting. Generic phrases (like "after being hit by") are skipped. Shared wording is not proof of coordination. It often comes from wire copy, press releases or a widely quoted statement. "Independent origins" is an estimate based on publisher name and headline similarity.
